My background is as a yoga teacher and aromatherapist with over 20 years’ experience with a style heavily influenced by India and the Buddhist and Hindu cultures. I like a space to feel light, zen, and uncluttered so that it invites a feeling of deep calm and relaxation, whilst also being a home away from home.  I teach retreats all over the world and this is my own little retreat in the Lake District.

Being close to water is very calming and serene and within minutes of being at Abbott Moss, you forget all the stresses of everyday life. I hope that you will love my home as much as I do.

Abbotts Moss is such a special place for our family. It feels like home from home, with space and peace and comfort for each member of the family.
Waking up to the lake view; watching a movie by the fire; enjoying morning coffee at the kitchen table in complete silence: it’s all a tonic for the soul.

 

21st October to 28th October 23

The welcome basket of goodies was lovely, particularly the delicious Lemon Drizzle cake and the eggs.
We really appreciated the swift response when the Aga was playing up. It did continue to spew soot all week so we thought the flue could possibly do with a clean. It was also really appreciated when we asked if we could take an extra dog to be told that in this case we could.  Fabulous house, beautifully decorated and very well equipped.  

 

18th August to 26th August 23

Perfect remote spot to relax and unwind. Lovely views. Great for wild swimming. Delicious homemade cake on arrival. Fantastic local shop in nearby Armathwaite

 

7th July to 14th July 23

A beautiful house in a fantastic location. Equipped to the highest standard - it must have been a complete van full from John Lewis!!
The beds were all very comfortable indeed and the fine cotton linen was lovely.
The garden furniture was very comfortable and a great place from which to watch the sunsets.
A large TV on which to watch Wimbledon and comfy sofas. Our adult children all said it was the best house/gite we have ever been to and we've been to a lot!
The house was very well maintained and the cleaning was impeccable. Thank You!

Our stay at Abbott Moss could not have been better. Beautiful location and house.
Julia could not have been more helpful with any enquiries we had. We will return again, it will be a good place to book for a few days when we travel to Scotland.
